The Amarillo Police Department is investigating an early Sunday morning shooting that has left a woman fighting for her life.

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- It happened in the 200 block of South Florida around 5:47 a.m. Police officials say the 28-year old female victim called 9-1-1 to report a man was standing in front of her car and was refusing to leave. Upon officers arrival, they found 29-year old Brandon Allen Stallings standing in the alley next to the victim's car.

As the officers approached Stallings, police say he then pointed a handgun at the victim's car and fired multiple times into the windshield. The victim was struck several times by the bullets. She was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital with what police say are life-threatening injuries. Stallings dropped the gun and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit officers were able to arrest Stallings. He's been booked into the Potter County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Evading Arrest. Police say it's suspected that Stallings is the victims ex-boyfriend. Their investigation into the incident continues.

Okay, let that sink in. She called the cops. She waited in her car for the cops to arrive. Her accoster stood outside the car, also waiting for the cops to arrive. When the cops arrived, he shot her several times.  WHAT. THE. FUCK?

Put the car into drive and get the fuck out of Dodge. Lawfully own a handgun and use it to your defense. But don't freaking sit there with a man who scared you enough to call the cops and wait to see what happens next.

Things like this piss me off to the nth degree.
